Free Geek Seattle is a volunteer non-profit organization focused on sustainable computing. Founded in 2009, we model ourselves after the original Free Geek in Portland Oregon. For extra-credit, complete our volunteer survey form which provides us more focused information, so we can match up opportunities with your interests and skills. Here is what we do, in a nutshell...
Free Geek Seattle thrives because of the work of all our volunteers. Interested in helping? To get started, please follow these 3 simple steps: 1. Join the mailing list Send an email to freegeek-seattle+subscribe@googlegroups.com to sign up. Most of our discussions and planning take place on the list, so this is the #1 way to get apprised and involved with us. 2. Introduce yourself! Send us an e-mail to introduce yourself to the group. Please include the following information:
3. Attend a workshop We have our workshops monthly on the 2nd monday evening from 6:30 - 9pm. This is where you can meet other volunteers and organizers in person, get your hands a little dirty and find out more how we operate. We meet at Jigsaw Renaissance in Seattle.
